Clash Royale heads back to the past with new (yet old) Retro Royale mode

Clash Royale is throwing it back to 2017 with the new Retro Royale Mode! Available for a limited time only, from March 12th to the 26th, this exciting mode offers a chance to win awesome new rewards. Climb the 30-step ladder to earn Gold and Season Tokens.

Supercell’s continued success stems from consistently refreshing their top games, as evidenced by their recent announcement of removing Troop Training times in Clash of Clans. This anniversary celebration for Clash Royale continues that trend by taking players back to the game's 2017 launch!

The Retro Royale mode, showcased in a recent trailer, features the original launch meta and card roster. From March 12th to 26th, you'll battle using a limited pool of 80 cards as you ascend the Retro Ladder. Earn exclusive rewards by climbing all 30 steps to claim Gold and Season Tokens.

The competition intensifies as you rank up. Upon reaching the Competitive League, your starting rank is determined by your Trophy Road progress. From there, your Retro Royale performance dictates your climb. Show off your timeless Clash Royale skills and conquer the leaderboard!

A Royal Decree of Nostalgia

It's interesting that I recently discussed Supercell's efforts to keep their games feeling fresh, and now a retro mode arrives. However, there's a difference between dated and nostalgic. With the enticing rewards on offer, it's hard to imagine fans resisting the urge to dive in.
