Clair Obscur Studio Announces Official Esquie Plushie, Cautions About Scams

Author:Kristen Update:May 20,2025

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 boasts a cast of memorable characters, yet few capture hearts quite like Esquie, the game's beloved giant companion who could easily be mistaken for a mascot. Sandfall Interactive, the studio behind the game, has recently issued a warning about unauthorized merchandise sales featuring Esquie, while also teasing fans with the promise of an official Esquie plushie in development.

In a post on their official X/Twitter account, Sandfall Interactive highlighted the emergence of "suspicious" websites selling Esquie plushies. "To be clear: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed," the studio emphasized. They noted that many of these sites use AI-generated artwork for promotion and cautioned against buying from these potential scams.

On a lighter note, Sandfall Interactive confirmed their plans to produce official Esquie plushies, urging fans to remain patient and avoid falling for fraudulent offers in the meantime. "In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!" the studio advised.

For those who have embarked on the journey through Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the appeal of an Esquie plushie is clear. Esquie, introduced in Act 1, serves as a helpful giant who not only aids in travel across the overworld but also becomes a cherished companion, reminiscent of Big Hero 6's Baymax.

Given Esquie's popularity, it's no surprise that there's interest in an official plushie. A quick Google search reveals both unauthorized sites and discussions about Esquie plush sellers. Fans eager for an authentic Esquie plushie from Sandfall and Kepler will need to wait, though no details have been shared on whether the real-life plushie will feature the whimsical touch of being filled with wine.

In other news, Sandfall Interactive recently rolled out patch 1.2.3 for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which included balance adjustments for Maelle's Stendhal ability. Additionally, French President Emmanuel Macron commended the game, lauding its developers as a "shining example of French audacity and creativity."
