Chrono Trigger Celebrates 30 Years with Upcoming Projects and a Special Concert

Square Enix has announced the 30th anniversary of the legendary RPG, Chrono Trigger. To mark this momentous occasion, they've promised a series of projects launching throughout the year. While details remain scarce, the announcement hints at possibilities beyond a simple game-related celebration.

This news has ignited fervent speculation among fans, many of whom have long awaited a proper remaster or modern console release. Despite its iconic status as one of the greatest JRPGs ever made, Chrono Trigger has surprisingly never received a full remake, only a PlayStation port in 1999. Subsequent releases have appeared on PC and mobile platforms, but a definitive modern version remains a cherished, yet elusive, goal. Given Square Enix's history of revisiting classic titles, hope remains high.

For now, the only confirmed anniversary event is a special livestream concert showcasing Chrono Trigger's iconic soundtrack. This concert will air on YouTube on March 14th at 7:00 p.m. PT, running into the early hours of the next morning.
