Oh hey, look, it's Bullseye. He's timeless, if not a bit out of date. In the world of comics, there's no shortage of eccentric villains sporting themed costumes and acting outlandishly. Bullseye, however, stands out as a classic comic book villain.

Bullseye is a sadistic, murderous psychopath with a ruthless sense of purpose. His true name remains a mystery, speculated to be Benjamin Poindexter, Lester, or something similar. Unlike many superheroes, his abilities stem from natural talent rather than a superhuman gene, much like Hawkeye. This "peak human" status in Marvel Comics means he can turn everyday items like a throwing knife, a pen, a paperclip, or his signature razor playing cards into lethal weapons.

Despite his seemingly basic nature, Bullseye excels as a hired mercenary with an impressive danger-to-costume ratio. Throughout the Marvel universe, he's notorious for his kills, including the iconic assassination of Elektra. During his stint with the Dark Avengers as Hawkeye, he continued his deadly spree. His intelligence allows him to turn murder into a lucrative business, and his skill ensures his success.

However, what does he do?

Did you not pay attention? Bullseye's specialty is flinging objects with unparalleled skill. In SNAP, he uses your weakest cards (no more than 1-Cost!) to deal -2 Power to your opponent's cards. Each card hits a different target, embodying Bullseye's perfect aim and sadistic flair. With the Activate ability, he ensures you discard your hand at the optimal moment, hitting like a pro.

This makes him a perfect fit for Discard synergies like Scorn or Swarm, enhancing their effects and providing more targets for Bullseye. Although Daken offers only one target, the Shard could still be affected in other ways. Bullseye becomes another controlled discard outlet, supporting scalers like Morbius or Miek. His ability to discard multiple cards can double the impact of a MODOK/Swarm play on turn 5, supercharging your favorite living vampire.

Fans of Bullseye should be aware of his main weaknesses. The biggest threat is Luke Cage, who can render Bullseye's effect useless. Red Guardian can disrupt your carefully planned Discard turn by attacking Bullseye from a different angle. Plan carefully and strategically to maximize the potential of this deadly marksman-mercenary.

Bullseye Decks on Day One

The classic Discard deck is the most obvious synergy for Bullseye. His ability complements Scorn and Swarm, enhancing the Discard engine's potency and redundancy. Focusing on Swarm, the deck includes Collector, Victoria Hand, and Moonstone to capitalize on their synergy and benefit from Bullseye's massive Discard turns. Gambit is included not only for his thematic connection to Bullseye but also for his powerful game-swinging effect.

Daken, often considered a challenging card due to its 3/8 payoff, becomes more manageable with Bullseye. This deck focuses on using Daken's doubling effect to secure a win. Bullseye adds control, allowing you to activate him at the end of your last turn to buff multiple copies of Daken and discard multiple Shards. This controlled discard can add consistency to the combo, making it less reliant on Supergiant maneuvers with MODOK. It's a long shot, but if you're looking for an extravagant and absurd way to take down your opponent, Bullseye might just be the spirit you need.

Verdict

Bullseye might be trickier to integrate than expected, as SNAP players often struggle with the Activate mechanic. His effect is quite specific, requiring careful deck-building to maximize his potential. However, his flashy effect on a flashy character holds promise, particularly within the Discard package centered around Swarm and Scorn. Bullseye could be a game-changer for those who master his unique abilities.
