Breaking News: Spotify Outage Reported

Attention all music lovers: Spotify, the popular music streaming service, experienced a widespread outage starting at approximately 6 a.m. PT this morning. According to Downdetector, a sister site of IGN, numerous reports of the service being down have been pouring in throughout the morning. Our team at IGN also encountered difficulties accessing Spotify; when we managed to open the app, it refused to play any music.

Spotify has officially acknowledged the issue and is actively working to resolve it as quickly as possible. The company has also debunked rumors circulating on social media, confirming that the outage is not related to a security hack. Spotify Status tweeted:

We are aware of the outage and working to resolve it as soon as possible. The reports of this being a security hack are false.
