Surprised by the price? So was I! At just $39.99, it's more affordable than expected. However, this lower price is partly due to the game's format. The physical version you'll receive is a "game-key card," which we'll discuss in more detail below.

Note: This is a Game-Key Card

Some games for the Nintendo Switch 2 are available on cards that contain the full game data. However, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster uses a game-key card. These cards resemble Switch 2 cartridges but don't actually hold the game data. Instead, you'll need to insert the card into your Switch 2 and download the 11GB game from the eShop.

Despite this, you can still lend the physical card to a friend or sell it. To play the game, you'll simply need to insert the game-key card into your Switch 2.

What is Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster?

Play

Originally released on the 3DS, Bravely Default is a classic JRPG that features turn-based combat and follows a group of heroes on a quest to find four crystals. Its unique combat system allows players to save up turns for multiple actions, while a deep job system lets you customize your party members' abilities.

The HD remaster retains these core elements and introduces several new features. You can now fast forward through battles and cut scenes, adjust encounter rates to suit your playstyle, and enjoy an online mode along with new minigames.
