The Blood of Dawnwalker, new RPG from CD Projekt RED veterans, revealed

Rebel Wolves, a studio founded by former CD Projekt RED developers, recently unveiled their debut project, The Blood of Dawnwalker, in a captivating livestream. The stream showcased a four-minute cinematic trailer, serving as the game's opening cinematic and setting the stage for a dark fantasy action RPG experience.

Set in an alternate 14th-century Europe, The Blood of Dawnwalker follows Coen, a young man thrust into a supernatural struggle after the events depicted in the trailer. He must rescue his loved ones from vampires, facing a daunting 30-day deadline. While time progresses strategically during gameplay, careful management is crucial.

Coen's journey presents challenging moral dilemmas: embrace his newfound vampiric powers or cling to his humanity. This pivotal choice significantly impacts both gameplay and the narrative. A core mechanic, Blood Hunger, adds a layer of strategic tension. If Coen goes too long without feeding, he risks losing control and potentially harming key characters, leading to unforeseen consequences.

Players will explore richly detailed environments, with dynamic changes based on the time of day. The developers describe the open world as a "narrative sandbox," offering extensive opportunities for player agency and interaction.

Developed over two years using Unreal Engine 5, The Blood of Dawnwalker is slated for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A specific release date is yet to be announced.
