Author:Kristen Update:May 03,2025

Bloober Team has recently announced a new collaboration with Konami, following the successful release of the Silent Hill 2 remake. While details about the new game remain under wraps, the partnership suggests another venture into Konami's iconic IP, likely within the Silent Hill franchise. Bloober Team's CEO, Piotr Babieno, highlighted the trust and success built from the Silent Hill 2 remake, which sold over two million copies and garnered critical acclaim, including an 86/100 on Metacritic and an 88/100 on OpenCritic. The game also received awards such as Game of the Year 2024 from IGN Japan and Best Horror Game of the Year from the IGN Community Awards.

The Silent Hill 2 remake, released on October 8, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, achieved one million sales within days, potentially making it the fastest-selling Silent Hill game to date, though this record has yet to be officially confirmed by Konami. IGN's review praised the game, giving it an 8/10 and describing it as a great way to experience one of survival horror's most dread-inducing settings.

As Konami continues to expand the Silent Hill universe, with projects like Silent Hill f and Silent Hill: Townfall in development, and a film adaptation of Silent Hill 2 on the horizon, the gaming community eagerly anticipates what Bloober Team's next project will bring. Whether it will be a new game or a remake remains a tantalizing mystery.
