The event begins with a quest to gather information about a mysterious visitor, Emit. This involves watching TV, checking social media, and interacting with other Sims. The Special Time Capsule hunt, however, requires more detective work.

Clues are scarce; you're only told to search for rocks near parks. Having spoken to Emit in Willow Creek park is a good starting point. Examine rocks in the area – look for one containing what appears to be diamonds. Interact with it to unearth the Special Time Capsule. Multiple rocks might need checking, but several should be present.

What's Inside the Special Time Capsule?

Opening the Special Time Capsule reveals an IOU note – a somewhat underwhelming reward for the effort involved. Read the note and return to Emit to unlock further quests within the Blast from the Past event.
