The First Bird Pokémon Is Landing in Pokémon GO During the Catch Mastery Event!

If you're a Pokémon GO player, you're in for a treat with some exciting events on the horizon. Alongside the ongoing Festival of Colors and Might and Mastery events, the Catch Mastery event is set to add even more thrill to your gameplay.

Catch Mastery Brings the First Birdie for Pokémon GO!

Mark your calendars for March 16th, when the Catch Mastery event kicks off from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time. This event spotlights Archen, the First Bird Pokémon. You'll encounter Omanyte and Kabuto in the wild, with the chance to snag their Shiny forms.

Archen will be up for grabs as a Field Research reward, boasting an enhanced Shiny rate. Plus, the event sweetens the deal with XP bonuses: double XP for Nice Throws or better, and for Curveball Throws.

For those eager to dive deeper, there's Timed Research centered around catching Rock-type Pokémon. Take on the challenge and you could secure up to 40 Archen encounters by completing 10 sets of tasks.

The Mega Absol Raid Day Is also Happening Soon

Get ready for the Mega Absol Raid Day on March 23rd, running from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Absol is set to receive a new Charged Attack, Brutal Swing, which will be available permanently post-event, dishing out 55 power in Trainer Battles and 65 power in gyms and raids.

Leading up to the event, from March 22nd at 5:00 p.m. PDT to March 23rd at 8:00 p.m. PDT, you'll see the Remote Raid Pass limit increase to 20. You can also collect up to five extra free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs, giving you a total of six for the day.
