This update addresses several bugs, crashes, and scripting errors in the Patch 8 stress test build. A key fix ensures Gale correctly uses magical items. Access to this update is limited to those participating in the stress test. Non-testers will need to wait for the official Patch 8 release.

Highlights of this update include: improved container handling within inventories, enhanced screenshot functionality in Photo Mode (especially for Steam Deck users), more responsive character poses, better cross-play functionality, updated Booming Blade tooltip values, and numerous crash fixes. For a complete list of changes, visit the official Baldur's Gate 3 website.

Patch 8 is anticipated to be a massive update, hence the need for thorough stress testing. It's intended as one of the final major content updates before Larian moves on from Faerûn. This update includes highly anticipated features such as cross-platform play, over 12 new subclasses (including the Death Domain Cleric, Path of Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter), and the much-requested Photo Mode.

Photo Mode: Unleash Your Inner Photographer

While waiting for Patch 8, explore the potential of the new Photo Mode with this in-depth preview video. Larian aims to empower players to fully utilize Photo Mode from the outset.

Access Photo Mode almost anywhere—during exploration, combat, and even in multiplayer (for the host). Customize character poses, include or exclude party members, and even add extra elements like a jumping frog. A free-moving camera allows for perfect shots. Add post-processing effects, stickers, and frames to personalize your creations. Note that pose manipulation is restricted during dialogues and cutscenes; only post-processing effects are available then.

This preview is just the start. Larian plans to release further tips and tricks videos to inspire players' creativity.
