Bethesda to Announce Oblivion Remaster Tomorrow

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 24,2025

After months of swirling rumors and tantalizing leaks, Bethesda seems poised to officially unveil the long-awaited remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The announcement is set for tomorrow at 8am PT/11am ET, and will be broadcast on both YouTube and Twitch.

In a recent X (formerly Twitter) post, Bethesda dropped a hint-heavy image featuring a prominent "IV" against a backdrop that unmistakably echoes the iconic art from Oblivion. While the post didn't explicitly state what the announcement would entail, the visual clues are hard to ignore.

Speculation about an Oblivion remake has been rampant for years. The buzz intensified following a 2020 leak from a Bethesda release schedule, uncovered during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023, which hinted at an Oblivion remaster planned for fiscal year 2022. Although that window had passed, making it seem like the project might have been scrapped, newer leaks reignited the excitement. In January of this year, reports suggested that Bethesda, with help from Virtuos, was working on a full-fledged remake. Last week's leaks from Virtuos' website, which included in-game footage, seemed to all but confirm these rumors.

Should these leaks hold true, fans can look forward to The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered hitting PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms. A Deluxe Edition, complete with the nostalgic horse armor, is also rumored to be part of the package.

Mark your calendars for tomorrow's announcement, where we hope to see all these details officially confirmed and perhaps even more exciting information revealed.
