Bring Large Dung Pods

Hirabami stand out as a particularly tough challenge in Monster Hunter Wilds. Unlike many monsters that prefer solitude, these creatures thrive in groups, complicating the fight significantly. To manage this, equip yourself with Large Dung Pods. These are essential for dispersing the monsters, allowing you to tackle them individually and gain the upper hand.

Use Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger Ammo

One of the quirks of Hirabami is their tendency to take to the skies, which can be particularly frustrating for melee fighters. If you're using a ranged weapon like a Bow, you'll have no trouble. For those wielding melee weapons, however, bringing Hirabami down to earth is crucial. Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger ammo, which you can fire from your Slinger, is your best bet here. If you're out of ammo, target Hirabami's tail to obtain a Tail Claw Shard, which can be converted into the needed ammo.

Utilize Environmental Traps

The arena where you battle Hirabami in the Iceshard Cliffs is filled with environmental traps that can turn the tide of battle in your favor. You'll encounter Ice Spikes, Floating Rubble, and Brittle Ice Pillars. Dropping one of these on Hirabami can stun and damage the creature, giving you a critical opening to attack.

Aim for the Head

The head remains the prime target for dealing maximum damage to Hirabami. However, their penchant for floating complicates this for melee users. If you're using a ranged weapon, aim directly for the head. Melee fighters should focus on the neck when the creature descends. Avoid targeting the torso, as it's heavily armored and less effective.

Watch the Tail

Hirabami's unpredictable movements make them a tricky opponent. They'll attempt to bite, spit, and even dive bomb from above. Keep an eye on their head to dodge these attacks. Additionally, be cautious of their tail, which they'll swing like a hammer. Staying mobile and alert is key to avoiding these dangerous moves.

To capture Hirabami in Monster Hunter Wilds, you'll need to reduce its health to 20% or lower, signaled by a skull icon next to its marker on the mini-map. Once you've achieved this, deploy a Pitfall Trap or a Shock Trap to immobilize the creature. Swiftly follow up with a Tranquilizer to put Hirabami to sleep before it can escape. Successfully capturing it will conclude the fight and grant you the standard rewards, though it might reduce your chances of obtaining additional materials from breaking its weak spots.

With these strategies in mind, you're well-equipped to tackle and capture Hirabami in Monster Hunter Wilds. Don't forget to bring Large Dung Pods or use the SOS feature to ease the battle.
