Bandai Namco Unveils Digimon Alysion: Digital Card Game

Bandai Namco is set to bring the beloved Digimon franchise back to mobile devices with their latest venture, Digimon Alysion. This free-to-play game, a digital rendition of the Digimon Card Game, is slated for release on both Android and iOS platforms, although an exact launch date has yet to be announced.

The announcement came during Digimon Con 2025, held on March 19th. Alongside this exciting news, Bandai Namco shared updates on other projects, including the continuation of Digimon Liberator with a new arc in April 2025. They also celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime with a special video and unveiled a new project, Digimon Adventure: Beyond, along with a new RPG titled Digimon Story: Time Stranger, which will be available on consoles and PC.

Digimon Alysion: More Than Just a Card Game

Digimon Alysion isn't merely a digital version of the physical Digimon Card Game. It introduces a unique feature called 'DigiAly' cards, which are exclusive to this mobile version. In addition to these, Bandai Namco is adding new Digimon and characters to the mix.

The game's character lineup predominantly features an all-girls cast, which is an unusual choice for a digital card game. This direction has sparked some skepticism among fans, particularly those who were expecting a more faithful adaptation of the physical game.

Bandai Namco's history with Digimon mobile games has been less than stellar, with two previous attempts that didn't quite meet expectations. This has led to some hesitation about the potential success of Digimon Alysion. However, despite these concerns, many fans, including myself, are eagerly anticipating its release.

A closed beta test for Digimon Alysion is currently in the planning stages, though specifics remain undisclosed. For the latest updates and more information, you can visit the official website or follow their X account.
