"Avatar: Seven Havens Announced, Post-Korra Events"

It's official: fans of the beloved Avatar universe have a new reason to celebrate! Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have announced an exciting new addition to the franchise titled Avatar: Seven Havens. This announcement comes in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the iconic series Avatar: The Last Airbender, created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.

Avatar: Seven Havens is set to be a 26-episode, 2D animated series that will follow the journey of a young Earthbender, who is revealed to be the next Avatar after Korra. According to a press release from Nickelodeon, the series is set in a world that has been shattered by a devastating cataclysm. The young Earthbender discovers her destiny as the new Avatar, but in this perilous era, her title marks her as a potential destroyer rather than a savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must unravel their mysterious origins and work to save the Seven Havens, the last strongholds of civilization.

In a statement, Konietzko and DiMartino expressed their excitement about expanding the Avatar universe, saying, "When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters."

Avatar: Seven Havens will be divided into two seasons, each consisting of 13 episodes, forming Book 1 and Book 2. The series is being co-created by Konietzko and DiMartino, along with executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. While the cast has yet to be announced, anticipation is already building for this new chapter in the Avatar saga.

This marks the first mainline TV series from Avatar Studios, who are also working on a full-length animated movie centered around Aang. The movie, set to premiere in theaters on January 30, 2026, will explore a new adventure featuring an adult Aang.

As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, Avatar Studios has also announced a range of new books, comics, concerts, toys, and a game in Roblox, all designed to honor this significant milestone in the Avatar universe.
