Applin and Dynamax Entei to Debut in Pokémon Go This Month

Author:Kristen Update:May 05,2025

Two Pokémon from the Galar region are making their debut in Pokémon Go this month, offering players a mix of sweetness and firepower. The Sweet Discoveries event, running from April 24th to 29th, introduces the adorable Applin, a Dragon/Grass-type Pokémon. To evolve Applin, you'll need 200 Applin Candy and 20 apples. Use Tart Apples to evolve into Flapple, or Sweet Apples for Appletun. These apples can be found in the wild, especially around Mossy Lures, and may even trigger Applin encounters.

During Sweet Discoveries, look out for wild spawns like Bounsweet, Skwovet, and Delibird. Field Research and Eggs will also feature themed Pokémon such as Munchlax and Cherubi. Timed Research, available in both free and paid versions, offers chances to obtain Sweet and Tart Apples. The paid version includes additional Mossy Lure Modules and more encounters with Applin.

ytDon't miss out on the Applin Headband and Apron available in the shop, and keep an eye on PokéStop Showcases featuring themed Pokémon. For those who prefer power over sweetness, the Max Battle Weekend on April 26th-27th brings the debut of Dynamax Entei. With a bit of luck, you might even encounter a Shiny Entei.

Prepare for these events with redeemable Pokémon Go codes!

Event bonuses include an increased Max Particle cap, reduced adventuring distance to collect them, and boosted Power Spot refresh rates. You'll earn eight times more Max Particles from each Power Spot visited. Leading up to the event, free Timed Research begins on April 21st, rewarding a Dynamax Sobble to help balance your team against Entei's fiery challenge.

Gear up for both events by visiting the Pokémon Go Web Store.
