Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Closing!

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is shutting down! Nintendo recently announced the End of Service (EOS) for this popular mobile game, leaving many players surprised. While the game's seventh anniversary is just around the corner (November 21st), its online services will cease on November 28th, 2024.

The Shutdown Timeline:

  • October 28th, 2024: Auto-renewal for Pocket Camp Club memberships will end. Existing memberships will not be refunded, but players will receive a commemorative badge.
  • November 26th, 2024: Last chance to purchase Leaf Tickets.
  • November 28th, 2024, 7:00 AM PST: Online services officially end.

A Silver Lining: Offline Play!

While online features like trading, gifting, and visiting friends' campsites will disappear, Nintendo plans to release a paid offline version of the game. This version will allow players to retain their saved progress and continue enjoying the core gameplay experience without an internet connection. More details on this paid offline version are expected around October 2024.

This shutdown follows a trend of Nintendo phasing out its mobile titles, including Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost. While unexpected for some, the news isn't entirely shocking given this pattern.

Enjoy the final days of online play, and be sure to check out the game on the Google Play Store before it's too late! Stay tuned for our upcoming coverage of Netflix's Monument Valley 3.
