Actor Pushes for Battlefront 3 as Sequel Surges

Author:Kristen Update:Oct 06,2025

Renewed enthusiasm for a new Star Wars Battlefront game has gained momentum following comments from an actor in the acclaimed series Andor.

Over the past month, players have returned en masse to 2017's Star Wars Battlefront 2 — driving Steam player counts to their highest point in years despite DICE having discontinued support long ago.

Muhannad Ben Amor, who portrays rebel hero Wilmon Paak in Andor, recently joined the fan campaign for a proper sequel through social media.

"Star Wars needs to deliver Battlefront 3 immediately," Amor posted on Instagram (via ComicBook), noting his 469-hour playtime in Battlefront 2. A solid effort, though perhaps too eager.

"I grew up with Battlefront 2 — been there since launch day," Amor added. "Here's hoping Battlefront 3 becomes reality."

The resurgence coincides with Andor's climactic second season and May 4th Star Wars celebrations, propelling Battlefront 2's player counts toward surpassing its all-time Steam peak of 10,000 concurrent users.

But does this momentum indicate Battlefront 3's development? Currently, DICE remains focused on polishing its next major Battlefield title, expected to receive a full reveal this summer during ongoing playtests.

DICE may remain hesitant following Battlefront 2's loot box controversy at launch, though public perception has significantly improved. While EA no longer holds exclusive Star Wars game rights, Respawn Entertainment continues developing Star Wars Jedi titles.

"Star Wars Battlefront 2's evolution rivals the Skywalker saga's redemption arcs," noted IGN's 2019 re-review. "It now stands among the most immersive ways to experience Star Wars through gaming."
