"American Dad Set to Return on Fox in 2026 Midseason"

It's back, once again. Seth MacFarlane's beloved animated series, American Dad, is making a triumphant return to Fox, slated for its second debut on the network in 2026. This exciting news comes alongside the announcement that new episodes of MacFarlane's other hit series, Family Guy, will also be hitting the airwaves during the midseason.

The return of both series to Fox marks a significant homecoming, as they were originally aired on the network from 2005 to 2014 before moving to TBS until March of this year. Fox is leveraging the return of these iconic shows to maintain its "winning position" in primetime television programming.

“Building on our winning position in both key demos and co-viewing this season, Fox delivers a 2025-26 schedule that’s filled with irreverence, fun and much-needed laughter,” Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade stated in a press release via Variety. “Next year more than ever, we’re bringing that promise to life with a terrific slate to delight our audiences across linear, Hulu, and beyond.”

Fox is bustling with new developments in its programming strategy. The network has unveiled the name of its new streaming service, Fox One, which will combine news, sports, and entertainment programming into a single platform. According to a press release from Fox, Fox One will offer both live streaming and on-demand access to the full catalog of Fox brands, with the option to bundle it with Fox Nation within one platform.

American Dad does not yet have a confirmed premiere date for its resurgence on Fox, but fans are eagerly awaiting its return. And it seems likely that the series will also be available on Fox One, though we'll have more details on that sometime next year.
