A newly released trailer for the upcoming TV series Alien: Earth has surfaced online, providing fans with an exciting glimpse into what's in store. The trailer not only reveals a new Xenomorph design but also showcases how closely Alien: Earth aligns aesthetically with Ridley Scott's iconic 1979 horror classic. Viewers are treated to a scene set in a MU/TH/UR control room that strikingly resembles the one aboard the Nostromo, where Ripley famously uncovered the grim reality facing her crew.

In the trailer, a frantic crew member is seen pleading for help, pounding on a sealed door as the Xenomorph closes in. Meanwhile, Morrow, portrayed by Babou Ceesay, remains detached, reporting that the "specimens are loose," declaring the crew dead, and setting the ship's course to crash on Earth. We then witness a group of six soldiers advancing towards what appears to be the downed spacecraft, hinting at a perilous encounter ahead.

The trailer raises numerous intriguing questions: Will Morrow survive? What drives his actions? Are there any other surviving crew members? Could someone be carrying a Xenomorph embryo? And how will the soldiers meet their demise?

These questions lay the groundwork for Alien: Earth, which follows the crash of a mysterious space vessel on Earth. The story centers on a young woman (played by Sydney Chandler) and a group of tactical soldiers who make a "fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat."

PlayFX’s *Alien* series is set in 2120, positioned chronologically after *Prometheus* and just two years before the events of *Alien* and the ill-fated journey of the Nostromo. Given this placement within the *Alien* timeline, fans speculate that *Alien: Earth* might show the Nostromo departing from Earth or reveal how the evil corporation Weyland-Yutani first learned about the Xenomorphs. As a point of reference, the recently released interquel *Alien: Romulus* is set between *Alien* and *Aliens*.

In January of last year, showrunner Noah Hawley shed light on his decision to diverge from the backstory established in Prometheus for Alien: Earth. He expressed a preference for the "retro-futurism" of the original films and, after discussions with Ridley Scott about various elements of the Alien series, chose to move away from the bioweapon narrative in favor of the lore from the earlier movies.

Alien: Earth is slated to premiere on Hulu in the summer of 2025. Additionally, Alien: Romulus 2 is currently in development, promising to expand the universe even further.
