Alicia Silverstone Returns for Clueless Sequel Series

Imagine slipping back into the iconic yellow and plaid outfit—it's happening! Alicia Silverstone is set to reprise her beloved role as Cher Horowitz in an exciting new sequel series for Peacock, bringing the world of "Clueless" back to life.

While the plot details remain under wraps, we know this series will continue the story from the cherished 1995 film. Variety reports that the project is in development, and it's distinct from the Clueless spin-off Peacock had in the works back in 2020.

The creative team behind this revival is nothing short of stellar. Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the masterminds behind the original Gossip Girl series and its reboot, are teaming up with Jordan Weiss to write and executive produce the series. They'll be joined by Amy Heckerling, the original writer and director of "Clueless," and Robert Lawrence, the film's producer. CBS Studios and Universal Television are also on board to produce, ensuring a high-quality continuation of the beloved story.

This isn't the first time "Clueless" has made the leap to the small screen. From 1996 to 1999, a television adaptation aired on ABC and UPN, with Rachel Blanchard stepping into the role of Cher. However, fans of the original film will be thrilled to see Silverstone back in action.
