May 2025 PS Plus Game Linked to Hollywood Movie

Author:Kristen Update:May 13,2025

It seems that the PlayStation Plus lineup for May 2025 might include the teen slasher horror game Until Dawn. While Sony has not yet confirmed this, leaks suggest that players could enjoy Until Dawn Remastered as a free download. Although the exact version remains uncertain, we will keep you updated as soon as official news is released.

PlayStation Plus is an online gaming service for PlayStation platforms, offering a range of benefits including free monthly games, limited-time trials, online multiplayer, and exclusive member discounts. The service also provides a vast catalog of current and classic games for Extra and Premium members, while the monthly free games are accessible to all subscribers, regardless of their tier.

Discussions on the PlayStation subreddit (thanks to PushSquare) speculate that this inclusion might be a promotional move tied to the recent release of the Until Dawn movie. However, the movie did not meet expectations, earning a 5/10 from us at IGN. Our review noted, "Until Dawn is more disappointing than deadly, leaving all the promise of the horror game behind for a jumble of horror-movie re-creations."

Similarly, the 2024 remaster of Until Dawn received a 5/10 from us, with our review stating, "an overpriced and under-featured remake that seems less like a must-have bit of moonlit murder and something closer to daylight robbery." In contrast, the original 2015 release by Supermassive Games was more favorably received, earning a 7.5/10.

In other PlayStation Plus news, 22 games are slated to be removed from the library next month, including popular titles such as Grand Theft Auto 5, Payday 2: Crimewave Edition, and the last playable versions of first-party games Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2. This removal means that Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 will no longer be available on modern consoles.
