"007 First Light: New James Bond Game Revealed This Week by Hitman Dev"

Finally, more than five years after its initial announcement, we’re set to get our first substantial glimpse of IO Interactive’s James Bond game. Formerly known as Project 007, the official title has been revealed as 007 First Light, with a game showcase expected this week.

In a recent post on Twitter/X, IO Interactive shared a striking image featuring a silhouette of what appears to be James Bond, subtly illuminated by a single ray of light. The artwork includes the text “First Light 007” and “Game reveal this week,” accompanied by the hashtag #EarnTheNumber. This tagline strongly hints at the game's narrative focus—exploring Bond’s journey as he earns his iconic 007 designation.

While the post provided no additional details, it’s highly probable that the full reveal will occur during one of the upcoming presentations tied to major gaming events like Summer Game Fest or Summer of Gaming—both of which typically take place during the first week of June.

007 First Light was originally announced in 2020 under the codename Project 007, and since then, information about the project has been scarce. What we do know is that the game is envisioned as an original origin story for Bond, rather than a retelling of any specific film. In a broader vision shared by IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak, this title aims to launch a new trilogy of Bond games.

However, fans of IO Interactive’s acclaimed Hitman series will need to remain patient, as development on that franchise has been placed on hold while the studio focuses on delivering a high-quality Bond experience.

Adding to the anticipation, it was confirmed earlier this year that 007 First Light will launch not only on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms but also on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, ensuring broader accessibility for players across multiple systems.
