Gameplay and Objectives:
Minnesota Whist is a strategic and fast-paced card game where the objective varies with each hand. In a "high bid" round, your goal is to capture seven or more of the thirteen tricks, while in a "low bid" round, you aim to take six or fewer tricks. Work seamlessly with your AI partner to outsmart your opponents and be the first partnership to reach the winning target of either 13 or 7 tricks.
Features to Enhance Your Experience:
- Customizable Gameplay: Tailor the game to your preference by choosing your win target, playing with or without a "set bonus," and selecting your difficulty level from easy, medium, to hard. Opt for normal or fast play, and choose between landscape or portrait mode.
- Strategic Options: Enable single-click play, sort your cards in ascending or descending order, and replay hands from either the play or the bid stage. Review previous hands to sharpen your strategy.
- Personalization: Customize your color themes and choose from a variety of card decks to keep the game visually appealing.
- Track Your Progress: Keep an eye on your all-time and session stats to monitor your improvement as you hone your skills.
Quickfire Rules:
After dealing the cards evenly among four players, each player bids by placing either a high (black card) or low (red card). Bids are revealed sequentially starting left of the dealer. If a black card is turned over first, the round is played 'high,' aiming to win as many tricks as possible. If all bids are red, the round is played 'low,' aiming to win as few tricks as possible.
In a high bid round, the player to the right of the one who 'granded' (first to bid black) leads the first trick. In a low bid round, the player to the left of the dealer starts. Players must follow suit if able; otherwise, they can play any card. The highest card of the led suit wins the trick, and the winner leads the next trick.
At the round's end, points are scored based on tricks taken. In a high bid round, the granding team earns a point for each trick over six. If they fail to reach seven tricks, the opposing team scores points for each trick over six, with the amount depending on the 'set bonus' setting. In a low bid round, teams score one point for each trick under seven.
