The rules of Mau Mau are clearly outlined within the app and can also be found at https://mauking.com/pravila-igre-mau-mau. Here's a quick reminder to ensure you're playing the game you're familiar with:
- The game begins with one card face-up on the table and six cards in each player's hand.
- The first player to discard all their cards wins.
- On your turn, play a card that matches the top card on the table by number or suit.
- If you can't play, draw a card from the Draw Pile. If you still can't play, click the "Pass" button.
- Before playing your second-to-last card, click the Hand button to signal that you're close to winning. A raised hand icon will appear next to your avatar.
Special cards add excitement and strategy:
- The Jack is a wildcard but can't be played on another Jack. It allows you to choose the suit for the next player.
- The Eight skips the next player's turn.
- The Seven forces the next player to draw two cards, unless they play another Seven, passing the draw to the next player.
- The Queen reverses the direction of play.
- The Ace lets you play another card immediately. You can't end the game with an Ace as you must play again, even if it means drawing a card.
- The Two of Clubs makes the next player draw four cards.
