La saison de découverte de World of Warcraft Classic se termine par sa septième et dernière phase, lancé le 28 janvier. Cette mise à jour majeure présente le Dungeon Karazhan Crypts, l'événement difficile de Scourge Invasions, et, une semaine plus tard le 6 février, le très attendu Naxxramas Raid.

La phase 7 arrive deux mois après la phase 6, qui a vu des joueurs se battre dans Silithus et faire face aux raids Ahn'qiraj. La mystérieuse figure sombre, aperçue pendant la phase 6, reste une énigme, sa réapparition potentielle dans la phase 7 à déterminer.

Suite à la maintenance du serveur le 28 janvier, les joueurs peuvent explorer les cryptes de Karazhan, un donjon à 5 joueurs sous l'emblématique tour Karazhan. Simultanément, les invasions du fléau libéreront des hordes mortes à travers Azeroth, offrant de nouvelles quêtes et récompenses à la chapelle Hope de Light. La défaite de ces morts-vivants produira des runes nécrotiques, échangeables contre les consommables des courtiers de runes.

Le raid de Naxxramas s'ouvre le 6 février, présentant un formidable défi. Un nouveau réglage de difficulté "Empower" augmentera considérablement la difficulté des pillards chevronnés. La conquête des ailes de Naxxramas

accorde à l'accès au repaire de Frostwyrm et à ses derniers boss, Sapphiron et Kel'thuzad. De nouvelles runes seront également disponibles auprès des courtiers de runes dans les zones de départ et les capitales.
