Les jeux de stratégie étaient autrefois quasiment inexistants sur le marché des consoles, sauf exceptions célèbres et tentatives malheureuses (comme l'atterrissage maladroit de StarCraft sur Nintendo 64). Au fil des années, cependant, un certain nombre de jeux ont vu le jour, apportant leurs atouts en matière de microgestion à des plateformes accessibles aux salons, en particulier sur les consoles Xbox Series.

Si quelqu'un souhaite puiser dans son commandant intérieur, le Xbox Game Pass propose plusieurs jeux pour lui. Bien que ce ne soit généralement pas celui qui attire le plus l'attention, de nouveaux jeux de stratégie arrivent sur le service, et il y a même quelques projets confirmés. Commandos : Origins et Football Manager 25 plairont probablement aux fans du genre, en particulier le premier.
