Dans la dernière série d'adaptations de Stephen King - ou, si vous préférez une vision plus optimiste, une autre annonce passionnante de film de Stephen King - une nouvelle version cinématographique de Cujo est à l'horizon.

Netflix devrait produire cette nouvelle adaptation, selon Deadline, avec le fondateur et producteur de Vertigo Entertainment Roy Lee attaché à la production. Le projet en est encore à ses débuts; Aucun scénariste ou réalisateur n'a été annoncé, et il n'y a pas encore de rumeurs de casting.

Le roman de King, initialement publié en 1981, a été adapté à un film d'horreur classique culte en 1983, réalisé par Lewis Teague et avec Dee Wallace. L'adaptation cinématographique d'Oz Perkins de la nouvelle de King's The Monkey est sortie en février. Cette année apporte également que Glen Powell, dirigée par Glen Powell, le Running Man , The Long Walk de JT Mollner (également produit par Lee et Vertigo), et la série IT Prequel, Welcome to Derry , sur HBO.
