Diagnostics and Configuration of Ford Focus 2 and C-Max Modules

This guide details diagnostics and configuration for Ford Focus 2 and C-Max vehicles using ELM327 or ELS27 adapters. These adapters provide CAN-bus access to various modules:

Accessible Modules (via ELM327 or ELS27):

• Engine Control Module (ECM): Retrieve module information, read and clear diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), reboot the module, and reset the long-term fuel trim (KAM) for the following engine types:

  • ESU-411/418 (1.8 125/2.0 145)
  • SIM28/29 (1.4 80/1.6 100/115)
  • ESU-121/131 (1.8 120/2.0 145)

• Instrument Panel (Dashboard) Module: Access module information, read and clear DTCs, configure module settings, reboot the module, and (in the full version) adjust odometer readings.

• Brake Control Module (BCM): Obtain module information, read and clear DTCs, configure module settings, reboot the module, and (in the full version) perform DDS calibration reset and brake bleeding.

• Body Control Module (BCM): Retrieve module information, read and clear DTCs, and configure module settings (full version). Reboot functionality is also included.

• Safety Restraint Control Module (RCM): Access module information, read and clear DTCs, configure module settings, reboot the module, and (in the full version) clear crash data.

• Transmission Control Module (TCM): Retrieve module information, read and clear DTCs, and reset KAM (full version).

• Climate Control Module (CCM): Access module information, read and clear DTCs.

• Audio Control Module: Obtain module information, read and clear DTCs, and (in the full version) retrieve the radio code (for M-series radios).

Note: Some features are only available in the full version of the software.

ELM327 Adapter Modification:

For enhanced functionality and access to more modules, a minor modification to the ELM327 adapter may be necessary. Instructions are available at: http://forffclub.narod.ru/index/0-2

ELS27 Adapter Information:

Purchase ELS27 adapters here: https://els27.ru/. For ELS27USB, set the baud rate to 38400. For ELS27BT, use the ELS27 Baudrate utility to set the baud rate to 2,000,000.
