A simple non-field RPG: Escape the cursed forest! - Prologue -

You're the village's best hunter. News of a national hunting tournament near the royal capital reached you, and you journeyed there to compete. After attending the opening ceremony, you eagerly entered the forest. Waking from your first night's camp, you discover something unsettling: everyone's gone. Only the remnants of a large hunter encampment remain. National guards usually oversee the tournament, yet there's no one in sight. Unsure of the situation, you cautiously begin to move, only to encounter the next oddity: a strangely branched tree... one you're sure you saw earlier. You were heading north, back to the forest entrance, but you're back where you started. A hunter losing their way is unacceptable, especially given your renowned sense of direction. This is beyond unusual; your location remains unchanged regardless of your movements. Fighting panic, you press on.

What is the "Elven Curse"?

This non-field RPG casts you as a hunter attempting to escape a cursed forest, aided by a quarter-elf. Gameplay is exceptionally streamlined, with a maximum of three button presses required outside the main menu.

Character Creation

While manual character customization isn't available, you can freely reroll your stats. The stat increase rate upon leveling up is only viewable on this screen and cannot be checked in-game. This information serves as a return item. If you have fewer than two "talismans" and your character's life force reaches zero, the game ends.

Foria, the Peddler Quarter-Elf

A boy (or perhaps not?) encountered in the forest. Despite his youthful appearance, he claims to be older than you and, while disclaiming involvement, secretly assists your escape using the forest's ancient spirits.

Scenario and Scene

The prologue unfolds smoothly, resembling a picture story. Foria's dialogue is cheerful, contrasting with the game's overall subdued and evocative tone.

Exploration Mode

The forest's paths connecting base areas are revealed through exploration. Uncovering all unexplored areas in each section allows progression. Exploration success is determined by "fog depth," which in turn depends on your character's stats. If your life force is depleted, you may need to use poison or rare "talismans" to restore it, potentially requiring a return trip to Foria.

Beast Encounters & Hunter Battles

Fierce creatures roam the forest, including wild dogs, wolves, frogs, and rabbits. Killing them yields hides for trading with Foria. Unlike typical RPGs, combat doesn't grant experience points. The goal is escape, and battles are entirely avoidable (though this requires luck or skillful play). As a hunter, you use a bow and arrow. Maintaining distance is key to attacking without receiving counterattacks, though this distance also limits your options. You can use wound medicine to heal at a distance. Closing the gap, however, results in a one-sided attack. Your choices are to withdraw (success determined by ability differences) or use a "flash" ball provided by Foria for a guaranteed escape.

Cloak & Layering System

Foria crafts cloaks from gathered branches, resin, and leather, enhancing your abilities. You can layer up to three cloaks, with ability increases being the sum of the layers. Cloaks may also offer vitality restoration. Note that the topmost cloak can be damaged and eventually destroyed. The bow and arrow remain unchanged.

This is Not Just a Game!

This game emphasizes enjoyable gameplay, including elements of:

• Random skill selection.
• Reflex and strategy testing.
• Material collection, synthesis, and alchemy.
• Thorough preparation before advancement.

Auto-Save

The game auto-saves, but not during battles. To ensure progress is saved, close the app from the base menu.
