This app is a vital part of the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), a pioneering scheme designed to offer cashless secondary and tertiary care treatment at empanelled public and private hospitals. This program extends its coverage to over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families, making healthcare accessible to those who need it the most.
At the helm of this initiative is the National Health Authority (NHA), the apex body tasked with steering the implementation of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY. With the Ayushman app, beneficiaries can now create their "Ayushman card" directly from their mobile devices, granting them access to free treatment up to INR 5 Lakhs.
